Let’s Studio Advances to GameSeed Incubation Phase

Let’s Play Indonesia’s digital game division, Lets Studio, is pleased to announce that Lets Studio’s mobile game “Playland: Hidden Gems” has been selected as one of the top 20 finalists in the prestigious Game Seed national competition, representing Malang City.

Letsplay Indonesia’s digital game division, Lets Studio, is pleased to announce that Lets Studio’s mobile game “Playland: Hidden Gems” has been selected as one of the top 20 finalists in the prestigious Game Seed national competition, representing Malang City.

“Playland: Hidden Gems” is a mobile game that allows players to take on the role of a tourist collecting souvenirs from various tourist destinations. Through this engaging platform, the game promotes an understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural diversity and uniqueness of tourist destinations both in Indonesia and around the world.

This achievement was made possible by the talented team at Lets Studio, which is part of Letsplay Indonesia. The team involved Istivano as a Game Designer and Project Manager, Linggar, Lena, and Killa from Binus University as illustrators, and Sandy (a graduate of Malang State University) as a Programmer.

In addition to “Playland: Hidden Gems,” Lets Studio also received recognition for another game titled “Pochibi,” which received an Honorable Mention at Game Seed 2023. Impressively, “Pochibi” was developed in three days by the Lets Studio team, which includes Istivano as Game Designer and Project Manager, Dwiki from Universitas ASIA Malang as Programmer, and Wawan, Vivi, and Dafa from Universitas Negeri Malang.

Game Seed is a collaborative initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Indonesian Game Association, Indie Games Group Indonesia, and Google. The mission of the program is to establish ten sustainable game studios each year in Indonesia, with a focus on mobile game products. Game Seed aims to educate developers on how to build a profitable and sustainable mobile game business.

Game Seed consists of five phases:

  1. Registration (March 4 to the last Game Seed roadshow in May).
  2. Roadshows in five cities: Bandung, Surabaya, Batam, Balikpapan, and Solo.
  3. Collection and selection of games for incubation.
  4. The incubation phase is where mentors help participants improve their games based on the data that has been collected.
  5. Grand Final where participants present their games to judges who are representatives of game publishers.

Letsplay Indonesia, through Lets Studio, aspires to make a positive contribution to the Indonesian game industry and the wider global community and is committed to remaining productive and creating games that meet market needs. The recognition received from Game Seed is a testament to the dedication and creativity of the entire Lets Studio team.
