What is the 2023 1 Card PnP Design Contest?

1 CARD PnP DESIGN CONTEST 2023 is a graphic design competition organized by the Board Game Geek Community (including RPG Geek and Video Game Geek). This contest aims to encourage the creation of innovative 1 card games with various themes and mechanisms.

 

Istivano is a Game Designer who continues to develop his skills in the world of game design. He is always eager to share his experiences and knowledge with the community. Struggling to raise his main card, Lazy Susan, which he said could be used as a uniqueness and attraction of the design he made.

FRUITS OF HARD WORK

His hard work was not in vain and produced very proud results, namely successfully achieving extraordinary achievements in this contest. His work managed to win 3rd place as “Best New Designer” This is real proof of his dedication and talent in designing interesting card games. However, his achievements did not stop there. In addition to winning third place as Best New Designer, he also managed to rank 11th in the “Best Overall Game” category. This is an extraordinary achievement, considering his strong competitors in this contest. Istivano’s achievements can be used as inspiration for all generations of designers to continue to hone and play a role in their passion. This shows that with hard work, creativity, and determination, anyone can achieve extraordinary achievements in the world of games. Apart from personal achievements, this victory has also brought pride to the Let’s Play community and has helped promote quality and creativity in the world of games. Hopefully, this achievement will encourage many other members to pursue their dreams in the world of game design.

The Malang Game Dev Community has just held a Playtest session featuring various games from game studios in Malang City, held at Piknik Hub Malang. The Playtest event was held lively at Piknik Hub Malang, introducing games designed by studios such as Satriver Games Studio, Clay Game Studio, Indekos, Lets Studio Indonesia, Shireishi Production, and Algorocks.

Participants can try various types of games, from the adorable snake and ladder modification game to games that invite us to grow trees and hunt for exciting souvenirs. After the Playtest session ended, the players provided valuable input and feedback to the game developers. This is a very meaningful moment, where the gamer community and game developers can interact and work together to improve the quality of the games we love. STIKI Malang (Indonesian College of Informatics and Computer) presents a unique and innovative learning experience with Letsplay Indonesia. This initiative combines a love of games with the development of academic skills. This first week, began with an introduction to Letsplay Indonesia represented by Kak Arif Bawono Surya. For the first session, discuss the role of games as a learning tool. Games are no longer just entertainment, but also an effective tool for developing cognitive skills, strategy, and creativity. By involving students in interactive discussions, they will explore the various positive aspects of games as a learning medium. In this session, students are also divided into two groups to play Super Food and Bandido.

The World of Playing Games

The Letsplay Indonesia team involved students to design and create simple game concepts to be modified. In each team, they will face the challenge of changing the Objective Elements, Gameplay, Narrative, or Components of the two games. This is an important step to feel the difficulty and joy of creating something from scratch.

At the end of the learning, students are assigned to play ten games, both digital and non-digital, to find the 4 most important Game Elements. This assignment is not only intended to have fun but also to develop a deeper understanding of various genres and styles of play.

PUPUK is an organization committed to improving the quality and sustainability of small and micro businesses. Pupuk collaborates with the Asia Foundation by inviting 18 PUPUK members throughout the archipelago to provide training and support to small entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.

To improve the business skills of small business actors, Let’s Play Indonesia has established a meaningful collaboration with the Association for the Improvement of Small Businesses (PUPUK) and is supported by the Asia Foundation. This collaboration aims to provide a unique experience through board game sessions that are not only entertaining but also educational in the context of developing small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The board game session held by Let’s Play Indonesia together with PUPUK and the Asia Foundation is not just a game. The board game chosen is “Business Craft”, which carefully presents business challenges and decisions that are similar to the real world. Participants are invited to face situations that they might face in running their small businesses, giving them first-hand experience without having to deal with real risks.

In this session, participants are invited to plan marketing strategies, manage finances, and make business decisions that can affect the development of their businesses. Young MSME actors not only learn from success but also from failure in a safe and supportive environment.

Through this program, participants not only improve their business skills, but also gain a better understanding of the importance of collaboration, creativity, and perseverance in facing challenges in business. Pehneur is a business incubation program that aims to help prospective entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs in Kediri City to grow and develop. The Kediri City Government has collaborated with 125 young people who are active in the MSME sector to participate in Kediri Pehneur 2023. Significant steps have been taken by the Kediri City Government to support the economic growth of its residents by introducing the latest initiative known as Kediri Pehneur. Kediri Pehneur is a business incubation program held in the period 25-27 September 2023.

The purpose of this Pehneur program is to provide incubation support to prospective entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs in Kediri City, with the hope that they can continue to grow. With this growth, it is hoped that they will be able to compete in the global market arena, as well as increase economic growth in Kediri City.

Letsplay Indonesia’s Contribution

The enthusiasm of the participants was evident in the training held at the Lotus Garden Hotel Ballroom. A number of materials presented included an emphasis on the mindset and mentality of entrepreneurs. The award was given to Let’s Play Indonesia in the Creative Startup Actors category, recognizing their contribution to the world of startups and education. Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Governor of East Java, officially launched the East Java 2,000 Startup Movement program at Graha UNESA Surabaya on Wednesday (20/9/2023). During the event, Governor Khofifah expressed her hope that startup actors or founders could become the main drivers in the development of the creative economy in the future. The East Java 2,000 Startup Movement initiative was organized by the East Java Provincial Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag Jatim) with the theme “The Rise of East Java Startups in Supporting the Creative Economy”.

Ngalup Collaborative Network (Ngalup.co) held a collaborative event with Let’s Play Indonesia at Ngalup Space Wilis to improve startup business communication skills through board games.

Ngalup. co, which is committed to developing startup potential in Malang Raya, held a monthly event for startup activists. On Saturday, September 17, 2023, Ngalup.co in collaboration with Let’s Play Indonesia held the Business Communication Edition “Get What You Want”. This event was attended by 27 participants from various startups who were divided into several groups to play board games, to better understand business communication.

CEO of Ngalup Collaborative Network, Andina Paramitha, explained that the purpose of this event was to provide basic knowledge about startups for early-stage actors. According to Andina, good communication is the key to introducing a business and conducting negotiations and lobbying.

Head of Creative Let’s Play Indonesia, Arif Bawono, added that through the game, participants can simulate good negotiation situations, so they can learn about the importance of win-win solutions and understand the needs of the negotiating opponent. In addition to playing board games, participants also received material from Wahyudi Sumardi, Partnership Community and Event Associate Mekari, about the basics of communication, including research before speaking, listening skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Thursday International Islamic Boarding School took an innovative step by conducting an industrial visit to LetsPlay Indonesia. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the application of entrepreneurship using the Game-Based Learning approach. This article will detail the experience of this visit and how LetsPlay Indonesia provided valuable insights to the school. Industrial visits are an important method to gain a practical understanding of the concepts taught in the classroom. In this case, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School wanted to explore the innovative way LetsPlay Indonesia integrates Game-Based Learning in the context of entrepreneurship. In this case, IIBS Thursina was divided into 2 days. On the first day, the visit was by IIBS Thursina male students, and on the second day, the visit was by female students.

LetsPlay Indonesia is known as a platform for developing learning methods that involve games. LetsPlay Indonesia itself considers that interactive and fun learning is the key to creative thinking and being able to solve problems effectively.
